Kikanbou was opened by the owner/chef who was the manager of the popular ramen restaurant in Ikebukuro "Menya-musashi Niten." Kikanbou features its original rich thick miso-based soup made with "hot" Korean chili pepper and "pungent" Sichuan pepper. The noodles contain three different sizes of noodles for offering the unique texture. Customers can choose levels of "hotness" and "pungency" respectively. If you love really hot one, "Onikoroshi" may be what you want to order. It literally stands for "demon killer" and has the maximum level of hotness and pungency. But, please be aware; it is made with "Trinidad Scorpion Butch T" pepper which is the hottest pepper of the world and was listed in the Guinness World Records in 2011.
